Tax Reporting

One click. Report and detailed records.

NELDAR structures tax-relevant events recorded during use. Profits, losses, fees, funding and relevant fund movements are separated and prepared for traceability wherever the required data is available from the connected exchange.

By Exchange & Account

Reports can cover all recorded data or be created specifically for an exchange, main account or subaccount. Exchanges can be evaluated separately for clearer attribution.

Futures & Spot

Futures and spot events are reported separately. Spot holdings can be classified as tax-relevant or not tax-relevant. Existing holdings or assets transferred in from outside may require manual classification by the user.

Down to Each Event

The detailed record traces the evaluation down to individual events, including the internal NELDAR ID and available exchange order/fill IDs, original amounts and EUR values.

Processing

More than profits and losses

NELDAR processes the data available from connected exchanges and structures trading results, fees, funding and relevant fund movement and conversion data. If a required value is not supplied directly, it can be derived from available source data where that data allows an unambiguous calculation.

Traceability

From the report back to the individual trade

Individual events can be associated with their corresponding trade through internal references. The NELDAR ID connects the evaluation with the trade, while available exchange order and fill IDs provide an additional reference to the exchange data.

NELDAR ID as a unique trade reference
Exchange order and fill IDs for reconciliation
Original amount alongside EUR value
Trade reference for journal association

Frequently Asked Questions About Tax Reporting

Is NELDAR a tax advisory service?

No. NELDAR records and structures trading data and creates evaluations and supporting records from it. Individual tax assessment remains your responsibility or that of your tax adviser.

Which events are included?

Depending on the market and the data available from the exchange, this may include profits, losses, trading fees, funding, spot events as well as relevant deposits, withdrawals, internal transfers and conversions.

Can I trace an individual position later?

Associated events are linked to the relevant trade through an internal NELDAR ID. Where provided by the exchange, order and fill IDs can also be used for reconciliation. Direct journal search using the NELDAR ID is planned as part of this workflow.

Is the same data available from every exchange?

No. The scope and level of detail depend on the data provided by each exchange through its interfaces. Missing values can sometimes be derived from available source data. If the required source information is also unavailable, NELDAR cannot report that data.

How are existing spot holdings handled?

NELDAR can distinguish between tax-relevant and non-tax-relevant spot holdings. If existing assets are transferred to an exchange from outside, NELDAR cannot automatically know their original tax status. Manual classification by the user may therefore be required.
